ESPN and DUKE Women's Basketball at NOSH - Photo Gallery - Wendy and Piper support Duke Athletics, and in particular have been impressed with the Women's Basketball program.
The Duke Team has been to the final four 4 times and the finals twice. The program not only teaches the athletes how to compete on the court, but how to become women who contribute positively to our community. In March of 2007, after the basketball team lost their first game of the year after a 30 win streak, the team stood on the court and watched Coach Kay Yow of NC State receive an award for surviving numerous bouts with breast cancer. NOSH One Year Birthday Party - Wendy and Piper celebrated a successful first year at NOSH by throwing a party for all their supporters, friends, loyal customers and family. The girls had great food, live music, balloons and a caricature artist to draw two caricatures of the guest - one to take home and one to hang in NOSH. Hugs and kisses to everyone for their fantastic support during our first year.
The LOFTS Cooking Demonstration - Wendy takes her show on the road. She and her staff had a blast creating a lively cooking demonstration at the new luxury Loft complex on Erwin Road for the residents and guests. The lucky audience got to eat all the goodies.
Independent Animal Rescue - Piper and Wendy through Piper's In The Park and NOSH are longtime supporters of Independent Animal Rescue (IAR). Please spay and neuter your pets to prevent overpopulation and the senseless killing of cats and dogs. IAR is always looking for foster homes to temporarily place animals. Animals looking for permanent homes may also be found on the IAR website at www.animalrescue.net. One of the ways Nosh supports this cause is to publicize stories about the animals by printing the stories on the table tent cards. Friday Music Night Jam - It is the perfect end to a hectic week. Stop by on Friday nights to hear local artists perform live. We have had a range of musicians such as Chuck Champion, Chris Titchner, Janet Stolp and Bus Stop Eddie. Music is performed from 7-9pm each Friday night at NOSH. We would love to see you there. Walking for the Cure - One in ten women is diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. A team of women from Durham will be walking in the Susan B. Kohmen breast cancer 3 day/60 mile walk in Boston in August. To contribute click here.
